Happy is he who acts as the Columbus to his own soul.† To me, this means finding your inner desires and acting upon them or else living a life of regret and remorse. One desire that everyone tries to achieve is to improve their appearance. Many do this by modifying their body, like getting bigger breasts, reducing the fat content, or even repairing a broken nose. All these procedures falls under plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is surgery done to repair, restore, or improve lost, injured, defective, or misshapen body parts. Many people have negative stereotypes about†¦show more content†¦Many people struggle with their height every day and are being turned away on dates, job interviews, and they miss a lot of opportunities to experience life to the fullest. We can t restrict them for being what society sees as a n ormal because of our own ethical beliefs. In the article Birth Defects, Nancy Green writes, â€Å"Approximately 3 to 4 percent of all live births are affected by a birth defect† (____). These birth defects include structural and more commonly noticed physical defects. Physical defects are limbs or organs that are either missing or abnormal in shape. These kids have to go throughout life feeling like an outsider much like Mark Pace, who received the limb growth surgery.
